Food insecurity remains a pressing issue in our country, with millions of families struggling to access nutritious meals on a regular basis. As we approach Thanksgiving, a time for gratitude and sharing, let’s come together to help those in need. By contributing to food banks and supporting community efforts, we can make a significant impact and ensure that everyone has a meal to enjoy this holiday season.
In partnership with SMART MLS, our local radio stations, WEBE 108, WICC 95.9, and STAR 99.9, and Trex Decking, we will be holding a food drive to support our local food banks Bridgeport Rescue Mission and The Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.
Ways You Can Help
DROP OFF A DONATION AT ANY OF OUR LUMBER YARD LOCATIONS
Now through November 20th, we’ll be accepting donations of non-perishable items at our lumber yard locations. Non-perishable refers to any food that is “shelf-stable,” meaning it can be stored in a pantry for an extended period without spoiling. It is important to ensure that the food being donated has not yet reached its “sell-by” or expiration date.
THANKSGIVING WITH TREX FILL THE TRUCK EVENT
Join us on November 21st from 10:00am to 6:00pm at Palmer’s Market, located at 264 Heights Road, Darien, CT, for our Fill the Truck event, proudly sponsored by Trex Decking. We’re challenging the community to help fill an entire box truck with non-perishable food donations. If you prefer, you can make a monetary, cash donation instead.
